Chiunque dipinga sa perfettamente che non sempre si riesce a ottenere l’effetto voluto su un pezzo o su una miniatura. Cosa fare per rimediare? Ecco un breve tutorial che ci spiega come agire.
Chante Clair, Dettol, diluente, sgrassatore industriale sono alcuni dei prodotti che più frequentemente si incontrano in rete per sverniciare i propri “pastrocchi”, ma i risultati non sono sempre quelli desiderati. In base ai tipi di colore utilizzati e al supporto, infatti, i risultati variano e il rischio di rovinare il pezzo, soprattutto se in plastica o resina, è alto.
Nella nostra vita modellistica abbiamo provato vari metodi che passano dalla soda caustica (altamente nociva e tossica) allo sgrassatore industriale, ma quello che ci ha soddisfatto di più a livello generale è quello che andiamo a illustrarvi di seguito.
Cosa serve
Per prima cosa sono necessari una confezione di acetone puro, reperibile in qualsiasi colorificio, acqua, un contenitore resistente agli agenti chimici (anche questo reperibile in colorificio), un pennello a setole rigide e uno spazzolino da denti ormai da buttare.
Si inizia versando l’acqua nel contenitore e si prosegue versandone una parte uguale di acetone.
La scelta di utilizzare l’acetone puro invece di quello per unghie è data dal fatto che il secondo è già diluito e l’azione sverniciante risulta minore.
Come procedere
Preparata la soluzione si immerge il pezzo nella soluzione per qualche minuto. Nel caso di miniature o pezzi in plastica consigliamo di non superare i 10 minuti onde evitare che la miniatura si ammorbidisca troppo; per quelli in resina consigliamo di procedere in sessioni di 5 minuti intervallate da una pausa di almeno un paio d’ore. Se si trattasse di miniature in metallo questo problema ovviamente non si pone e si potrà lasciare la miniature in ammollo anche tutta una notte.
Una volta trascorso il tempo si potrà estrarre la miniatura o il pezzo da sverniciare e si inizierà a spennellare con il pennello a setole rigide il pezzo.
Questo toglierà gli strati più superficiali della vernice arrivando, in alcuni casi, già a un risultato accettabile e senza danneggiare la miniatura o ridurne i dettagli.
Mano pesante
Nel caso in cui il colore fosse asciutto da molto tempo questo risulterà più difficile da asportare.
A questo proposito ci tornerà utile lo spazzolino da denti con il quale delicatamente si procederà a ripassare l’oggetto insistendo soprattutto sulle parti dove il colore si è annidato maggiormente.
Nel caso di particolare resistenza uno stuzzicadenti o uno strumento a punta, meglio se metallico, permette di far saltare il colore ormai ammorbidito. Nel caso si utilizzasse uno strumento metallico si dovrà fare attenzione per evitare di rovinare la superficie dell’oggetto sverniciato.
Risciacquo
Una volta terminata la fase di sverniciatura è necessario bloccare l’azione dell’acetone sciacquando il pezzo con abbondante acqua corrente.
Asciugata la miniatura o il pezzo si potrà procedere a una nuova verniciatura partendo dal primer.
